Nothing can prepare you for how much you're going to fall in love with your new baby. I would love to provide you with beautiful, timeless images of you and your loved ones that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
Professionally trained by newborn photography instructors and neonatal nurses, I have learned how to safely handle and pose your little one while using creative ideas for artistic imagery. To date, I have had the honor of photographing nearly 500 beautiful Kootenay newborns!!
Though I am trained to safely pose your baby using props, my favorite poses to put your baby in are ones that they are more comfortable in, naturally. All sessions are baby-led, meaning that they are the boss and I follow their lead. With my simple streamlined workflow, your session can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, allowing you to head back home in no time!
Typically, posed newborn sessions are best held within the first 14 days of birth. The idea of doing this so soon after birth might sound a little daunting with your sleepless nights, but it's so worth it!! We want to capture the newness of your baby while they are still super sleepy, and because their bones are still soft, they are still comfortable in cute curly poses. Older babies don't enjoy being fussed with when they are sleeping, which makes posing difficult and as a result, there will be less variety in your images. If your baby is already older, let's book an unposed newborn session!
When at the studio, you can relax comfortably with a book, wifi, take a snooze (you wouldn't be the first!), or bring along a board/card game and watch your baby being photographed comfortably from the resting area.
Everything for your newborn shoot is provided, but please feel free to bring any special items that you would like to incorporate into your images such as a special blanket or a family heirloom. My fave style for newborn photos is super simple. The fewer props/distractions from your baby, the better! (See some sample images below or check out my Instagram page for updated photos!)
When your baby is born, please notify the studio as soon as possible to be guaranteed availability during your baby's prime time! You will be sent a helpful information guide on how to prepare, what to pack, what to wear, and what to expect from your newborn shoot.
Studio Newborn Sessions are held in my commercial space in downtown Trail: Suite A,1334 Cedar Ave. (street level).

(Please note that anybody can stick a baby in a basket or bucket and call it a cute photo, but I know with all my heart that even as tired as you are right now, your most cherished photos will end up being the ones of you and your baby together. Because of this, I highly recommend choosing a package where family is involved).

HEIRLOOM PACKAGE ~ 10th Anniversary Sale Price: $1100 + GST
Includes: A Classic Newborn or Parenthood Newborn package

~ Birth Announcement Cards: Printed on thick matte paper, these
beautifully designed cards are perfect for announcing your little ones'
arrival! Cards come in a pack of 25 along with white stationery envelopes. (Additional cards available for fee.)
~ Prints: 4x6 professional prints of each image stored in a black or white box

PARENTHOOD ~ 10th Anniversary Sale Price: $300 + GST (March - May 31 2024)
There isn't a prop that will bring more sentimental value than a family's embrace. Photos will be beautifully raw and organic, showcasing your connection with your baby, and allowing these semi-posed, family-centered newborn sessions to remain timeless and true. (This package includes you and your family in all photos!). Done in my downtown Trail studio, Parenthood Sessions are a wonderful alternative to posed portraits and are best done within the first 1-2 weeks but can be done up to 4 weeks of age.

~ 10% off any print products including wall art, albums, prints, cards etc.
~ 30+ High-resolution hand-edited digital images
~ Full use of client closet! I have coordinating outfits for moms, dads & siblings!
~ Full use of the studio's swaddle wraps
~ Digital Birth Announcement-fully customized (cards w/envelopes available)
~ Session will take between 60-90 minutes
~ Trained, well-mannered pups are welcome in the studio upon approval.

CLASSIC NEWBORN ~ 10th Anniversary Sale Price: $300 + GST (March-May 31, 2024)
Sweet and simple photos of your baby, comfortably posed and unposed resulting in timeless, artistic imagery. Your baby will be photographed as they are both un-swaddled and swaddled in your choice of colours. This package consists of mostly baby-only photos, with a handful of family photos. These sessions are best done when baby is 5 days to 2 weeks of age.
Includes:
~ 10% off any print product including wall art, albums, prints, cards etc.
~ 30+ High-resolution hand-edited digital images
~ Full use of the studio's beautiful props & wraps
~ Full use of client closet (for moms, dads & siblings)
~ Family portraits (posed or unposed, in natural light or studio light)
~ Digital Birth Announcement Card (with the option to order cards & envelopes)
~ Session will take about 60-120 minutes
*Sneak-peek provided within 72 hours. Turnaround time for your completed
gallery is 2-4 weeks.

SWADDLE MINI ~ 10th Anniversary Sale Price:: $280 + GST (March - May 31, 2024)
Swaddle Mini Swaddle Sessions are a quick 30-minute time frame, where your baby is beautifully swaddled for the entire shoot. All wraps, swaddles, baskets, and props are provided, but feel free to bring your own! (Best done within three weeks of age).
Includes:
~ 10% off any print product including wall art, albums, prints, cards etc.
~ 10 High-res, hand-edited digital images
~ Full use of my beautiful props, wraps, and backdrops
~ Digital Birth Announcement Card (with option to order cards & envelopes)
~ A private gallery to download your high-resolution digital images from
~ Session will take approximately 30 minutes.
*Sneak-peek provided within 72 hours. Turnaround time for your completed
gallery is 2-4 weeks.

* Session fee is due in full at the time of the shoot.
*Due to the custom nature of each session, the scheduling flexibility required for newborn sessions, and the time I devote to my clients, I limit the number of sessions I take each month. It is best to book as early as possible!
*5% GST will be added to all session fees and 12% added to products.
*Product purchases must be paid in full before the order will be sent. There are no refunds on print products once the order has been submitted.
